what is an E-Way Bill ?

An Electronic Way Bill (E-Way Bill) is a document required to be carried by a person in charge of the conveyance (truck, van, etc.) carrying goods worth more than a specified amount.

🔹 Who should generate?

Registered Person (Supplier or Recipient) – If the consignment value exceeds ₹50,000.

Transporter – If supplier/recipient has not generated and goods are handed to transporter.

Unregistered Person – If supplying to a registered person, then the recipient has to ensure compliance.
